UNICEF Canada TV spot (1992)
UNICEF Canada recorded a clever public service announcement in 1992 combining Moore's work for UNICEF with his legacy as James Bond. The PSA takes place as a taxi cab picks Moore up from the airport.
Roger: Airport please.
Cab driver: Hey, double 'O'
Roger: The name is Moore, Roger Moore.
Cab driver: Under cover, huh?
Roger: I'm here for UNICEF.
Cab driver: I thought it was something important.
Roger: It's very important. UNICEF is committed to keeping our promise to children everywhere for clean water, health care, food and education.
Cab driver: Yeah, every kid deserves a break. Attaboy, Rog.
Narration: Help us keep our promise to the world's children.
Cab driver: Give it to the kids. Hey - loved you in "The Untouchables".
Toyota Corona TV ad (1981-83)
In early 1980s Roger Moore did a promotion for Toyota in Japan. The company had Moore in the sales promotion of Toyota Corona 1500/1800/2000 as their image character between 1981 and 1983. Although never mentioning James Bond, it is obvious the way Moore is dressed, who he is supposed to be. And thus the campaign was frowned on by the 007 film company at that time. Apart from a TV commercial a number of large format brochures was published. It comprised photos of Roger Moore and a Bondgirl-type model posing with Toyota.
