Based upon the novel by Sir Walter Scott. Set during the reign of King Richard I the Lionheart (1189-1199), or actually the time when the king was believed to have been dead and when his brother Prince John claimed the British Crown.

Synopsis: Ivanhoe and Gurth meet Lyman, the pieman, and learn that he is on his way to a hanging. Since only the Crown has a right to erect a gallows, it is clear that someone is acting illegally, so Ivanhoe goes to the rescue.

Gurth takes him to the cottage of one Widow Marigold who permits him to recuperate there. As soon as Ivanhoe recovers, he and Gurth take off to find the robbers - and discover that the widow is not all that she would seem to be.
