The Weekend Starts Here
The Daily Express interview with Sir Roger
"We spend the summer in Monaco and the winter in Switzerland. Monte Carlo is fairly social and there are often charity functions at the weekends. I recently went to see Tom Jones in concert here. He was at Buckingham Palace when I received my OBE. An ideal Friday evening is not to have to go out at all, but to stay in and watch television. I'm mad about Keeping Up Appearances, The Vicar of Dibley, and Absolutely Fabulous. Every morning, I wake early around five or six o' clock - and the weekends are no exception. I watch the BBC news (or Breakfast With Frost if it's a Sunday) while I have breakfast in bed. I then go for a 45-minute walk. One of our favourite pastimes is going out on our boat, a 41 ft Sunseeker Tomahawk. Very few people have pools in Monaco, so we swim in the Mediterranean. Then we go ashore for lunch at Villefranche or Cap d'Ail. At this time of the year, our children and grandchildren come to visit for a week or so. When they're here, I become captain of the boat and general dogsbody. In the evening we may have dinner with friends. I don't do so much cooking here, but in the winter I do a nice curry, and I'm big on stuffed chicken and turkey. If we're not entertaining, again I love to watch television. I'm addicted to Holby City and Casualty. Medicine has always been something that has interested me, as I'm a secret hypochondriac. Actually, I'm not. A hypochondriac is someone who believes they are sick when they're not. I know I am."
