"Bond on Bond", new book by Moore. From the press release: The Bond movies remain the longest continually running film series in movie history, and 2012 marks its fiftieth anniversary. While there have been many actors that have taken on the coveted role of James Bond, the most renowned 007 – and the one with most panache and charisma – is undoubtedly Sir Roger Moore, KBE. To celebrate the film franchise's wonderful heritage, Roger Moore has written a book that features all the Bond movies, along with a wonderfully witty account of his own involvement in them. From the girls to the villains, from the cars to the cocktails, from the gadgets to the locations, this beautiful book is illustrated with many iconic images from all the films plus many previously unseen shots from the Bond archive. This is the ultimate James Bond book, written by the ultimate James Bond, with all the affection and good humour he brought to the role. The book can be ordered here.

"Sherlock Holmes in New York" finally on DVD. The first official DVD edition of "Sherlock Holmes in New York", a 1976 NBC feature film starring Sir Roger Moore as the famous detective, will be released in Australia on March 21 by Madman. Packed in a beautifully crafted cover artwork it features image gallery and exclusive feature-length audio commentary with Sir Roger Moore recorded the previous year as bonus material. The film is presented in original 4:3 aspect ratio. You can watch trailer for the DVD here. Simultaneously Amazon.de has announced an Ascot Elite Home Entertainment release of "Sherlock Holmes in New York" which, although with a different and far less inspired artwork (trying to cash in on the Robert Downey Jr. films?), is very likely to be a mirror edition of the Madman release although no extra stuff is mentioned. Read more about the German release here.

Moore supports Bobble Day. Sir Roger Moore and Joanna Lumley backed a new campaign to raise funds to help the UK's elderly during the winter. The pair has thrown its support behind charity Age UK’s Bobble Day on February 10, which urged the British public to buy colourful knitted accessories to attach to their winter clothes to raise funds for old folk struggling through the cold season as part of the organisation’s Spread The Warmth drive. Former Bond star Sir Roger, who revealed he was labelled ‘The Big Knit’ by Sir Michael Caine because of his early days as a sweater model, is eager for Brits to purchase the charitable accessories. He said, “This ‘Big Knit’ now supports Age UK’s Bobble Day and I’ll be urging everyone to wear their favourite knitwear on February 10th: you too could look as debonair, suave and sophisticated as me – Bobble-O-Seven! But more importantly, you will also be helping to save lives by supporting Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign.” Find out more at Ageuk.org.uk. Source: Marie-France Vienne

Sir Roger talks to "The Telegraph". "'For Your Eyes Only' was shot in Greece over about four months. We started off in Corfu before moving to the mainland to locations including Kalabaka, in the Thessaly region, where there are monasteries situated on pinnacles. I remember having to do the mountaineering shots wearing those terrible shoes and being absolutely petrified of heights." - Sir Roger Moore reflects on the making of "For Your Eyes Only" in a brief but candid interview for "The Telegraph". This year marks the 30th anniversary of the film. Read more..

"Sherlock Holmes in New York" DVD premiere. In October Sir Roger Moore recorded a DVD commentary for "Sherlock Holmes in New York", an NBC mystery drama starring Moore as Sherlock Holmes. The film, originally broadcast in October 1976, features Moore in one of his lesser known yet exquisite film roles. It was directed by an acclaimed American TV director, Boris Sagal, and co-stars Patrick Macnee as Doctor Watson, Charlotte Rampling as Irene Adler and John Huston as Moriarty. It is the first time the film will be released on DVD. The forthcoming edition of "Sherlock Holmes in New York" is, however, produced for Australian market, but it will hopefully be available through various internet stores.

Moore praises Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Sir Roger Moore was in Copenhagen this week and attended a reception with Kate and William and Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary after they toured the organisation's emergency supply centre. During the reception Sir Roger has praised the "passionate" Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. "We just discussed what they had seen and what their thoughts were and how glad they were that they came to support this extraordinary appeal", said Moore. "They are both very interested in east Africa, they were engaged in Kenya, it's so close to their hearts", continued the actor, for whom the crisis in east Africa is a specially important issue. "It was just reiterating their passion for this cause and I think it must be a passion otherwise the royals wouldn't just give up a day of their very busy lives and the high demands there are on them for attending all sorts of functions and that's apart from the RAF duties of the duke."
